The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (also known as COP) is the decision making body on Climate Change. COP29 is happening in Baku, Azerbaijan 11-22nd of November.

A delegation from Young Friends of the Earth and Friends of the Earth are traveling to ensure that climate justice and the voice from young people in Ireland are heard. We’ll meet with our representatives and make sure a diversity of voices are heard and we need you to take part! Ways you can share your thoughts, feelings, demands and hopes can come in a variety of ways.

On the 7th November 5-7pm Young Friends of the Earth will host a workshop on one of the themes of COP29- Climate Finance. You can register for the event here. We’ll have lots to share coming up to and during COP- sign up to our mailing list to keep up to date about how you can get involved for fair, inclusive climate action.

And join us on November 13th, 2024 from 6PM, at Maharry Theatre, TCD, for a collaborative event hosted by Friends of the Earth Ireland, and TCD Environmental and Politics societies. What’s the Point of COP?’: Youth Climate Workshop & Panel Discussion will focus on the role of young people in shaping international climate decisions, with a particular emphasis on the Conference of Parties (COP).
