April 5, 2016 View all news I meant to tell you yesterday about a new TV series starting tonight on TG4 at 8pm about the trees on Ireland (it's repeated on Sunday at 7.30).It looks sumptuous (see the trailer here) and it's presented by the ever engaging Manchán Magan. Described as a "feast for the senses" it looks like the next best thing to a real walk in the woods.By contrast, if you're around Dublin tomorrow I'll be talking in the IFI at 6.30pm before a screening of "The Day The Earth Caught Fire" (you can book here). It's the first film in a Science Gallery / IFI season on "How the cinema of the past had imagined our future".And finally for now, I had some rueful fun on Friday with an April Fool's press release on "Fianna Fail - Fine Gael climate action plan an historic turning point", to draw attention to the fact that our last National Climate Change Strategy was published NINE years ago on Saturday. You can still share it on Facebook, where it got good play, to draw attention to the absurdity of the situation. Of course, I had to issue a regretful correction later in the day.All the best,OisinP.S. We've had a great response already to yesterday's community energy appeal. Thanks to everyone who has already donated.Anything you give right now will be TRIPLED because it’ll allow us to draw down grant funding that closes in 9 days. And everyone who makes a donation will go into a draw to win two tickets to Naomi Klein's talk in Dublin on Thursday 5th May.For every €1 you give us we’ll have €4 to fight for a fossil free future. Thanks! Categorised in: Climate Change Energy
