September 16, 2016 View all news Friends of the Earth as part of Stop Climate Chaos are hosting our annual Autumn Outdoor Film Screening next Saturday 24th in Sandymount Green, and this year we are showing the Disney Pixar Movie Wall-E!You joined us for Stop Climate Chaos's screening of Naomi Klein's "This Changes Everything" last year and we would love to see you next Saturday as we pair up with Happenings to screen Wall-E!DATE - 24th SeptemberVENUE - Sandymount Green TIME - Doors open at 6:30pm with the screening starting at around 8pm when the sun goes down. TICKETS - €5 can be bought at the gate or at usheru.comWall-E short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class, is the last robot left on Earth. He spends his days tidying up the planet, one piece of garbage at a time until he meets a search robot named EVE who realizes that Wall-E has stumbled upon the key to the planet's future and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home).Wall-E is a fun movie for all the family but not without a subtle message, as September 2nd marks Ireland's Overshoot Day,the day when Ireland’s demand for ecological resources and services exceeds what our ecosystems can regenerate in that year, we are reminded of the need to rethink our own consumption before time runs out!So come and soak up the last of the summer sun in Sandymount Green next Saturday 24th September. There will be coffee, popcorn and cakes on sale but do feel free to bring along a picnic and a blanket. :)Looking forward to seeing you there!Heather Friends of the EarthP.S.
