Let's talk community energy! Webinar and book launch

Join us for a webinar this week! We'll be launching this stunning handbook for communities from Friends of the Earth Europe, and and exploring the opportunities for Irish communities in the energy transition in 2021 with Minister Eamon Ryan.  

Community energy is key to action on the climate crisis, boosting local economies, and reinvigorating communities. We’ve been campaigning for clean, community energy for a long time. It’s been a tough battle at times but things are finally starting to look bright!

This autumn, Eirgrid held Ireland’s first renewable electricity auction - giving a green light to two community owned solar parks. Our Solar Schools have been making great strides too - demonstrating how schools can be a part of Ireland’s clean energy transition. We still have plenty of work to do though - and lots of ideas for how to do it!

We’ll be joined by Minister for Energy, Eamon Ryan and energy campaigner and author Molly Walsh. The webinar will launch Friends of the Earth Europe's newest handbook 'Community Energy - A practical guide to reclaiming power'. And we’ll look at what’s needed next to roll out community energy across Ireland.
