There’s no doubt about it, January was a long, hard month for many of us. It’s good to see February arrive - with some new hope and slightly brighter days.

We're delighted to announce that the Learning Hub we launched in Autumn 2020 is back in action. Perhaps you attended the first Learning Hub event last October, where the meaning of Climate Justice was explored? If you missed it, you can watch it back here. That first event was based loosely on Mary’s Robinson’s book ‘Climate Justice’.

Our second event, on 15th February, will also hinge around the theme of climate justice. We’ll dig deeper into the issues that were explored in the first workshop and zone in on how to communicate about climate justice. In particular we’ll look at the issue of framing - and explore the most ethical and effective ways to speak, write or post about climate justice issues during our campaigning, activism and everyday activities. We’re delighted to be joined by a guest speaker from the groundbreaking Framing Climate Justice project - you an learn more about that project here.

Our third and fourth Learning Hub events will be based on our second Learning Hub book, written by Reece Jones, “Violent Borders: Refugees and the Right to Move”. I’d highly recommend reading this book ahead of these events. They will take place in March - so now is a good time to start reading!

We are sending copies of the book to everyone who makes a 30 euro one-off donation or a 4 euro monthly donation to Friends of the Earth.

If you can’t get your hands on the book - or don’t have time to read it - then don’t worry! We are also creating read and watch lists on the theme of migration, which we will publish soon, so you can dip into these ahead of our events if that suits you better. The beauty of our Learning Hub is that you can read (or watch) for just a few mins or for many hours!
