Friends of the Earth Ireland is recruiting a number of board members. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the governance and stewardship of an organisation that is at the heart of the movement for a just world where people and nature thrive.

Friends of the Earth Ireland is registered with the Charities Regular and is a company limited by guarantee.  Our voluntary board meets every two months to provide oversight and accountability for the organisation’s strategy and resources.

More than just an organisation, Friends of the Earth Ireland is a community of like-minded people campaigning for solutions to environmental problems that work for people and the planet and is part of the world’s largest grassroots environmental network.

To complement the strengths of the current board team, we are looking in particular for new members who bring experience in one or more of the following areas: human resources, legal, accountancy, communications, activism and climate science.

We welcome all applications and it is not a requirement to have had a previous link with Friends of the Earth. A commitment to our mission and values is of course essential. We are part of a diverse and inclusive movement and would like to see that spectrum of backgrounds, ethnicities and Ireland-wide geographical spread reflected on the board. We would particularly encourage young people, and those directly impacted by environmental degradation, to express an interest.

If you are interested, please send a CV with a short cover note to boardrecruitment@foe.ie  by 21st November.  If you have any queries, please contact boardrecruitment@foe.ie .  And please do circulate this note to others you think might be interested.
