Online Workshop: Energy Security - Have your say against Fossil Fuels

Climate action must be front and centre of the Government’s energy policy. This means Government support for fossil fuel infrastructure must end – there is no energy security without climate security. 

Want to have your say on Ireland's energy security? The Department of Environment, Climate, and Communications has opened a consultation as part of its review of Ireland’s security of supply (which closes on Fri 28 Oct) and published independent analysis.This analysis rejects commercial LNG and offshore exploration as options and raises other measures to enhance security - some risky some not – from renewables, demand reduction and interconnection to a strategic backup ‘floating LNG’ terminal to a state owned gas storage facility. 

We are now hosting an online workshop to offer support and guidance to those who wish to make a submission to this consultation and make your voices heard on this crucial issue.

As the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said: ‘Investing in new fossil fuels infrastructure is moral and economic madness. Such investments will soon be stranded assets — a blot on the landscape and a blight on investment portfolios."
