BOLD Climate Action is committed to building older people’s role and voice in promoting the urgent need for fast and fair climate action. This autumn, we’d like to bring that message to more older people. We hear that a general election may be called in the autumn. How best can BOLD do awareness-raising and outreach during election times? We’re delighted to invite you to an in-person workshop that will address this topic on Thursday, 29th August. Oisin Coughlan and Sorcha Tunney, CEO and Head of Campaigns of Friends of the Earth respectively, will be speaking at the workshop. Some of the topics they will be addressing include - how a charity like Friends of the Earth shares its message during election times; Friends of the Earth's key goals and methods; and lessons learned from previous campaigns. Date: Thursday 29 August, 10.30 am – 2 pmLocation: Conference Room, Pearse St Library, 144 Pearse St, Dublin 2, D02HE37As always at BOLD events, there will be lots of opportunities for input, including discussions in small groups. We’ll also aim to come to a consensus about the broad outlines of BOLD’s contribution this autumn. Copies of BOLD’s Manifesto, a really useful resource, will be available at the workshop!Correction: An error was sent out in the email correspondence regarding the Manifesto document, which was described as BOLD’s Election Manifesto. This should have read as Manifesto.Note: This workshop series is part of a wider Global Citizenship Education project, ‘Collaborating to help build an inclusive and diverse movement with the knowledge and skills to be active global citizens committed to a fairer and more sustainable future for all.’ Funded by Irish Aid and co-funded by Concern, supported by Friends of the Earth.
